lyrics
Sharp as a childhood warning
And slick like magazine
Hot as a cardboard cup
And sweet as medicine
We're going to stray where the world won't want us
We're going to run out of every seam
We're going to build every stitch back up
Just to prove we've been
And we are here
We are here
We will always be here
High as an M1 hoarding
And slip like margarine
Hard as a curb-stone fall
And then street as anything
We're going to stray where the world won't want us
We're going to run out of every seam
We're going to build every stitch back up
Just to prove we've been
And we are here
We are here
We will always be here

The second EP from Northern Irish singer-songwriter Bea Stewart runs from gentle folk to pillowy pop ballads, all perfectly executed. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 15, 2024
this album has been the soundtrack to my last five months. my favorite track varies from day to day and mood to mood, but moths in the gaslight is always near the top. there's something very lived in about the world that boden paints with this one, and the thread of yearning that trails throughout brings this open sort of tenderness to an otherwise burning world, which just feels endlessly, beautifully human. sophie
